Workers and Jobs
A building produces nothing on its own. It needs a resident who is assigned to it and takes on the job there — at the Hunting place, for example, that of the hunter. How many workers a building needs is listed on its wiki page under “Workers”.
Workers enter and leave a building through its entrance, shown by a green arrow while you build. That is why at least one door needs a free tile in front of it.
Satisfaction and stamina
Section titled “Satisfaction and stamina”How fast a worker works depends on their satisfaction — that is, on how many needs of their housing are met:
| Satisfaction | Work speed |
|---|---|
| 100 % | 125 % |
| below 50 % | 75 % |
| below 25 % | 50 % |
Working costs stamina; a worker keeps going until the afternoon. Waiting for materials and managing the storage cost no stamina.
Pause or Cancel
Section titled “Pause or Cancel”The difference matters when a chain should only stand still for a short while:
- Pause sends the worker home and keeps the selection, i.e. recipe or resource. Watered farm fields keep growing in the meantime.
- Cancel discards the selection, puts the building to sleep and frees the worker.
Some work requires a tool, which is requested and not used up. Plowing a farm field needs a stone shovel; if it is missing, only the plowing pauses, the rest of the small farm keeps running.
