Progress: Version 0.0.27.0

A look at the upcoming version: new low-poly models, roads that find their own way, outposts with towns of their own and lively construction sites.

Version 0.0.27.0 is still in the works, but so much has happened already that we want to give you a first look behind the scenes.

New low-poly models

Almost every building of the early ages has a new model in a consistent low-poly style – from the straw clay hut and the collect, hunting and millstone places to the well, the working pit and the night camps. The old models are gone for good.

Roads find their own way

You now plan roads with just a start and an end point: the route finds its own way around buildings and trees, uses existing roads and runs diagonally as one continuous line instead of a big L. To make that work there are twelve road shapes, including diagonal junctions and crossings, and you can place a torch on every one of them.

Your residents happily take a small detour to use finished roads and switch to a running animation on them.

Outposts and towns

From now on you build within a town: your first building founds the capital, every storage place expands it, and you get to name it. With the new outpost you found more towns away from the capital – with residents of their own – and trade between them. Town borders show up as a yellow line on the map.

Lively construction sites

Construction sites are now marked out with stakes, strings and little flags at the entrances. The pile of materials grows with every delivery, and the finished building rises out of the ground in a cloud of dust.

We will announce the exact release date of 0.0.27.0 in good time. Until then: thanks for playing and for all your feedback!
